Ah, the ol' #10. I missed it so much, I did a web search for "Togo's Italian Sausage Sandwich" and came up with this recipe. I went out and bought a crock pot and all of the ingredients the same day.

I was unable to find sweet italian sausage, so I used mild, which worked fine. The sausages came out very tender and tasted very much like the ol' #10 I loved so much in the early '80s.

(It's really a shame Togo's was bought by Dunkin' Dounuts.)
