My girlfriend is gone for a week, which means one thing - bachelor food! Too bad portlandpiper and I weren't able to sync on sending the women away, which would have certainly led to a big ol pot of chili.

I'd kinda like to make some honey chicken, but I'm out of ginger, so that will have to wait till tomorrow. Tonight, I'm just going to make up some nachos with some ground buffalo and chorizo for the meat.

Day 2: Breakfast: Bacon from

Day 2:
Breakfast: Bacon from Oakland Bay Farm and whole wheat pancakes made from a mix put out by Littleton Grist Mill in New Hampshire. The grind on the flour is kinda course, so the pancakes come out with a texture like that of cornbread.

Lunch: We had a little "Thanksgiving in June" dinner the other night, and I used the leftovers to make an open faced chicken sammich topped with a layer of stuffing then smashed potatoes. Over that I poured gravy with some horseradish mixed in, and some lingonberry jam.

Dinner: Chinese crispy honey sesame chicken. The versions that most restaurants make are just too sweet, without balance. I just winged it as far as the recipe goes, and it came out great.
