Friday is pizza day

Back when I was in elementary school, Friday was always Pizza Day at the cafeteria. It wasn't exactly good pizza, but it was a hell of a lot better than what they passed off as a hamburger.

Well, yesterday was Pizza day at the Anderson house too. I had been planning on making up some sourdough spelt pizza dough, but we got hit with a power outage in the morning. After being without power for 5 days in December, I decided not to make the dough till I knew we would have an oven at night. By the time the power came on a few hours later, I knew that I would have to stick with a regular active dry yeast crust.

For my pizzas, I went with homemade canned tomato sauce, red pepper flakes, a mess of cheeses from the fridge, pepperoni, sausage, onion, mushroom and garlic.

Laurie doesn't eat dairy and wasn't in the mood for tomato sauce. She did an olive oil drizzle with coconut, shrimp, onion, mushroom and garlic.

As always, the pizza was yummy.

I guess I need to get my various pizza crust recipes posted here, as well as the baked tomato sauce.
