Giving The Rock a second chance
On Sunday night, we were meeting a bunch of Laurie's coworkers at The Rock in Lacey before heading down to Evergreen to hear Maya Angelou speak. Back about five or six years ago, we tried out The Rock up in Lynnwood shortly after it opened, but we weren't all that impressed. Their pizza was actually pretty good, but they only had their list of specialty pizzas, without much else. They had a policy of no split pizzas, and no substitutions of items. We ended up spending around $40 for the two of us, and while the pizza was good, it wasn't that good.
Last Sunday was a much better experience. they've expanded their menu to include a much larger selection of burgers and sandwiches. They still have their no split pizzas and no substitutions rule on their specialty pizzas, but at least they now have build your own pizzas.
I ended up going in on a pizza with a couple of other people, and Laurie had an excellent teriyaki chicken sandwich. Both of them were excellent.
Once I go back a couple more times, I'll be ready to write a review. researching restaurants to review is turning out to be a lot of fun.
