Just one more reason why I do not shop at A**-Whole Foods

I have gone into a couple of different Whole Foods markets with friends and while I can sort of see the appeal to having the selection I can not see the appeal to paying the price. Most of the time I can get better prices through my local farm stands, food co-ops, or farmers' markets. I will admit that I do not have the same range of selection for out of season fruit and vegetables - but I only buy out of season fruits and vegetables that are locally green house grown, IQF (individually quick frozen), or canned.

Then I see this story on my local paper web-site: OregonLive.com

And this additional information on the New Seasons web-site: NewSeasonsMarket.com

Up to now I just found Whole Foods annoying because I find their prices to be too high on most items most of the time, their stores to be too large to comfortably relax and shop in, and their Portland store to be farther than I really want to drive to get groceries.

I now have two reasons to hate them because they are messing with a local company that is bringing local and sustainable food at decent prices and taking over and closing the other nearby organic Wild Oats stores.

Sounds like a judge who does

Sounds like a judge who does not understand the limitations on third-party subpoenas. Does Whole Foods have to turn over their records to the competitors?

Whole Paycheck has a pretty bad reputation when it comes to supporting local food, they only do it under duress when their customers make a big stink about it. Not that losing either of our business is going to matter to them, I haven't been to one in at least 5 years, since I moved to Lacey.

It would be nice if judges

It would be nice if judges would put "play fair" restrictions on corporations like that - but even if they could I doubt if they would - especially for elected judges.

I do not expect that our not shopping there will ever do them any harm - but it would give me a warm fuzzy feeling to know that I caused at least one more person to stop shopping there. Right now I am just venting.

I wonder if Whole Paycheck

I wonder if Whole Paycheck has a clue about Portland. It isn't the town where you want to piss off the locals, because word gets around.
