If you are in SW Portland and are looking for a good source for German sausages, cold cuts, pastries, packaged foods, etc., then give this place a try: Bavarian Sausage Delicatessen | (503) 892-5152 8705 Southwest Locust Street, Portland, OR, 97223 They do their own hot and cold smoking and have even been willing to custom mix and grind sausages. (Of couse I did purchase 10 lbs. of the sausage.) They also have the best ham hocks I have found - 4x the size of the ones at the grocery store meat counter. Go in weekday mornings and English speakers are usually in the minority. |
