A one-time nice little beach town that has let itself go almost all touristy. If you go off-season or mid-week, it can be a very nice place to visit the Oregon coast and sample some really nice food.

Goverment Camp used to be a rustic, almost run-down, town situated on the south-west slope of Mt. Hood. On my last pass through the town I noticed that there has been a lot of "progress". New businesses, larger homes, lots of vacation condos, and even a few more paved streets.

Rockaway Beach, OR is a small beach town with about 1,400 residents about halfway between Tillamook and Manzanita. There are a couple decent restaurants and a stop on the Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad.

Tigard is what I consider a comfortable sized city that is just south and west of Portland. It has a few decent restaurants and is currently working on a large downtown revitalization.
