Reducing your pesticide exposure from food

There are many reasons to buy organic produce, and one of the most common is to avoid pesticides that have been applied to your food. Unfortunately, it is sometimes difficult to buy everything we want from organic suppliers, because of availability or the higher cost. In these situations, it would be handy to know which conventional produce is likely to have the heaviest load of pesticide.
The Environmental Working Group has tested tens of thousands of samples of produce for pesticide residue, and published their results in a simple list. I've posted a copy on my refrigerator door, right by my shopping lists as a convenient reminder of what produce I really need to avoid if I can't buy organic.
